Pope Francis receives Lula da Silva
2/14/20 The Vatican, Feb 13 (Prensa Latina) Pope Francisco received former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva here today, the South American political leader announced through a message on Twitter.
“Meeting with Pope Francis to discuss a more just and fraternal world,” Lula wrote in the message accompanied by two photos with the Supreme Pontiff.
So far the Holy See did not refer to the interview, the first held between both personalities known for their coincidence on issues related to social justice.
Lula, who held the presidency of Brazil between 2003 and 2010, visited the Vatican in 2009 and was received by the then Pope Benedict XVI.
